I welcome you to this miracle that is taking place in your life. As your doula, it is my goal to assist you in making this the most memorable event for you.

I believe that the experience a woman has during her pregnancy and especially during her labor and delivery, resonates with her throughout the postpartum period and beyond.  My goal, as your doula, is to provide information and support during all of your decisions in this threshold moment of your life.

My husband and I moved to New Hampshire from Wisconsin in 2002, when I was 8 months pregnant with our first child.  I was anxious, to say the least; not only had I moved away from family, friends, and all that was familiar, I also was expecting a child that I had not planned for.  In one month time I needed to move into a new home, find a midwife, and prepare for labor.  I was frustrated and depressed that during this time in my life, which was to be full of joy, excitement and peace, was quite the opposite.   I found help in a crash course in Hypnobirthing and a dedicated midwife.  In the end, I had a beautiful, vaginal, unmedicated birth.  On that day, I also birthed a desire to help women in their journey of pregnancy and labor.

After several years of applying to nursing school, being accepted, and deferring acceptance - due to the pregnancy of my second child, I decided to focus on being a mother to my children.  In the fall of 2006 I birthed my third child and my midwife asked if I would be interested in becoming a birth doula.   I never heard of a doula and was intrigued by the idea.  My researches lead me to where I am today, a certified birth doula through DONA International.  

I am now a mother to four wonderful children.  I have a bachelor’s degree in Social Change and development with an emphasis in criminal justice from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay.   I also have a Masters degree in Sociology from the University of Kansas.    I live in Newmarket with my husband and children and volunteer at school and in the community.
